Ryan Close is an awesome designer currently living in Sydney, Australia. His vibrant designs have bagged in clients like Lexus, Deutsche Bank, Sportsgirl, NAB, MIni and many more. We did get a chance to know more about him and we are thrilled to share it with you.
Hi Ryan, thanks for the interview, could you please tell us more about your design background and how it all started?
I always had a passion for creating artwork from an early age, but never acted upon it until I was very bored in a Science degree 10 years ago. Moved myself into design courses and never looked back.
Where do you get your inspiration from?
The internet is an amazing source of inspiration, but sometimes I get sick of looking at computer screens – no matter how inspiring the work can be. I enjoy looking at beautiful old buildings on the street, design/architecture magazines, old record covers in second hand bookshops (they really had no design limits in the 70’s and 80’s!)
Tell us more about your design process
I try not to stick to a solid process, planning can be a big part, but sometimes you just need to get into your design platforms and get your ideas on screen. You can straight away see if things will work or not.
